About SRC-Link

This OBS Studio plugin allows for a large number of clean-feeds (video streams) sent from a remote location to be input into OBS Studio while switching between them. By “large” here, we do not mean 8 or 16, but in theory 100 or 1,000.

SRC-Link achieves this by using orchestration to control remote OBS Studio in one place. A web service SRC-Link Control Panel used with the plug-in is the core technology of the product that handles orchestration (the SRC-Link plug-in is the client).

In essence, it is a support system for large-scale remote collaboration distribution, but with the goal of greatly reducing the setup and communication load. Streamers (guests) are asked to install the SRC-Link plug-in in OBS Studio and register as members of the main streaming operator (host). When it is time to start, the SRC-Link is put on standby, and the host can switch between streams at his/her own timing.

In the past, there would be a lot of complicated communication (sending connection information such as addresses, stream keys, passphrases, etc., lectures on how to set up, troubleshooting, etc.) before connecting, but SRC-Link automates all of this with a plug-in and the SRC-Link Control Panel.

You may also need to change the passphrase depending on the shift to avoid a situation where the wrong guest connects to the wrong line, but SRC-Link will take care of that too, so you can proceed safely.

The old trick of capturing a collaborator's YouTube feed has been used since ancient times, SRC-Link offers more creativity advantages to the host since it receives multiple clean-feeds in parallel. SRT is used as the streaming protocol, ensuring stability and minimizing latency.

Get Started

The SRC-Link plug-in is free and open source software. You can download the installer below and install it in OBS Studio.

The SRC-Link Control Panel is a web service that requires sign-up. There is a free plan available for free use, but some functional limitations exist when hosting.

For now, we recommend that you try the free plan.

As for paid subscription plans, you can choose from the inexpensive Supporter Plan, which provides basic functionality, and the regular Standard Plan. The Pro Plan will be available soon.

If the host subscribes to a paid subscription plan, the guest can use the free plan without any inconvenience.

Therefore, when inviting guests to join, you can basically tell him downloading the SRC-Link plugin and have them sign up for a “Free plan” on the SRC-Link Control Panel.

Sign-up and subscription details can be found at this page
